Paid leave proponents say small businesses back their effort
An organization that supports establishing a paid family and medical leave program in Connecticut says 77 percent of the 243 Connecticut small business owners recently surveyed support its stance.
The Campaign for Paid Family and Medical Leave was scheduled to join small business owners, legislators and others at the State Capitol Wednesday morning to announce the poll results.
The poll was commissioned by the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund and conducted by BLS Research & Consulting in East Haven.
Several bills in the House and Senate on paid family and medical leave, including one that would provide a tax credit for businesses that offer the benefit, have stalled in the legislature, with no action since March.
